Main Street Market is not your average gas station. Featuring a unique combination of retail options, this pioneering brand of travel centers is poised to dot the traffic arteries of the Western United States, with three locations currently constructed and several more well on the way.

The Main Street Market brand of travel center, with its assortment of retail, dining, and fuel options, was the brainchild of Petroleum Wholesale, LP, a Texas-based company founded in 1973 that owns and operates several retail, fast food, and fuel station operations throughout nine states in the region. It can trace its origins to the development drives of the company's president, John Cook, who had a vision for the company’s future.
One of the facilities that would bear the name Main Street Market was a 40-year-old facility in Texas, located in Interstate 20 between Midland and Odessa. Although aging and in desperate need of renovation, the facility was still considerably profitable as a fuel station, making it an ideal choice for the company to build its retail concept.
The end result was a hybrid travel center that featured a 20,000-square-foot truck repair facility, 175-space RV park, and 40,000 square feet of retail space, open year long and accessible 24 hours a day. Stores include a discount grocery store, Steak 'n Shake, Subway, a full-service convenience store, Carquest auto/truck parts store, and an Ace Hardware. In addition, this new Main Street Market had a feature it shared with its parent company, a fenced pet area for traveler's dogs to stretch their legs.

Thus far, three Main Street Markets have been built. Others like it will soon be developed as the flagship locations and its successors take root.
